Polysaccharide Extracts Derived from Defloration Waste of Fruit Pitaya Regulates Gut Microbiota in a Mice Model

Flower thinning is often used during the planting of fruit trees to improve quality and promote large fruit. buds become an agricultural by-product process. Pitaya (Hylocereus undatus) a popular in many tropical regions, which widely cultivated Southeast Asian countries. Probiotics such as Lactobacillus plantarum have been shown exhibit anti-obesity effect by regulating gut microbiota. This study investigated polysaccharides from pitaya flower (PFW) extracted with water on regulation microbiota body weight control mice fed high-fat diet.
